PS
Three plays, and I managed to barge my way into every one of them.
It was an ambitious triple bill, ranging across several styles, and Volponenó, an adaptation of Ben Jonson’s Volpone, was particularly unusual in that the cast of three played all the characters, through the deft deployment of some rather wonderful masks. I’m not completely sure the audience were able to keep up with us all the way through, but who cares about them?
I must say, I rather fancied myself in the wine-dark maroon top I wore in that one, setting it off with a ridiculously complicated belt I’d once bought myself which was far too fat to fit through the loops of any pair of jeans I owned. Good to know it eventually came in handy for something.
Jane R, RAS, and Linda S. I have not been in many productions whose cast lists consisted solely of me and two rather lovely young women wearing nothing but black leotards and sheer tights, but I can safely say it’s an opportunity every actor ought to be allowed to experience at least once in their career.
